During this pandemic, the consumption of digital content from mobile apps to TV streaming and gaming has skyrocketed. While connectivity provided other networks has struggled to keep up with this demand, Jazz continues to have the fastest 4G in Pakistan. However, at the backend, we have the technology team to thank for working tirelessly to ensure that the service provided is seamless.
40 radios with hardware faults were scheduled to be changed at sites across Multan. However, with an air travel ban imposed, a critical shipment of Nokia 4G hardware was delayed. Through careful planning and strategy, the technology team was able to replace the radios allowing for the restoration of 4G in 36 sites across a vast geographical area within a span of 20 hours.
Despite facing the heat in the month of Ramadan, and the risk of working on the towers during the darkness of the night, Mohsin Bakhtyar from Jazz Technology Central-B team and Atif Touqeer from HNL (Business Partner) paved the way forward. They arranged the transportation of the complete hardware to all sub regions using Jazz and HNL vehicles, and motivated the teams to ensure complete restoration of services in line with COVID-19 safety standards.
