Following the announcement of the Warid merger in 2017, the technology team identified two phases for the network consolidation. In the first phase, the Radio Access and Data Core Networks were consolidated under the DSEURR project. In this second and final phase, the two voice core networks have now been consolidated to become the country’s biggest voice core network, serving 62 Million Jazz families!
This project has not only significantly reduced the Jazz Core-locations footprint but has also created an organizational strategy towards the virtualization of the network. The transition has enriched customer experience by providing improved voice quality and HD voice experience to Warid subscribers with better call setup time and future enablement on voice over data services.
This project has been a true example of Jazz’s value of Collaboration where despite the lockdown, the project was completed as per the committed timelines through the untiring efforts put in by Jazz teams and our business partners.
