What is Head of Internal Audit - JazzCash?

The Head of Internal Audit – JazzCash is a key leadership position within Pakistan’s leading Fintech ecosystem, responsible for shaping and overseeing the internal audit strategy for JazzCash FINTECH Pvt. Ltd. (JCF) and JazzCash Pvt. Limited (JCPL). This role ensures that governance, risk management, and control frameworks are robust, agile, and fully aligned with both Group Internal Audit standards and the dynamic regulatory environment set by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Head of Internal Audit is not just an assurance provider — but a strategic partner, influencing decision-making, driving accountability, and enabling sustainable growth in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital financial landscape. It requires a forward-looking leader who can embed data-driven assurance, deliver high-impact insights, and strengthen organizational resilience across all business lines.

Reporting Structure

The Head of Internal Audit functionally reports to the Chairperson of the Audit Committee to ensure independence and compliance with regulatory and governance standards. The role also reports to the Chief Internal Auditor, Mobilink Bank, for alignment with Banking Regulations, Group audit strategy and quality standards, and administratively to the President, JCF.

What does the Head of Internal Audit - JazzCash do?

1. Strategic Leadership & Alignment

• Lead the internal audit strategy for JazzCash in line with Group Internal Audit’s vision and JazzCash’s business objectives.
• Drive innovation in audit methodologies through data analytics, automation, and continuous auditing techniques.
• Foster a culture of integrity, risk awareness, and operational excellence across all levels of the organization.

2. Risk-Based Audit Planning & Execution

• Develop, maintain, and execute a dynamic audit universe that reflects strategic priorities, emerging risks, regulatory obligations, and evolving Fintech technologies.
• Ensure timely, comprehensive, and effective delivery of the annual audit plan for JCF and JCPL.
• Oversee risk-based audits across all business domains — including digital products, technology platforms, operations, finance, compliance, and cybersecurity.

3. Governance & Risk Oversight

• Independently evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management systems, and governance frameworks.
• Provide proactive assurance on new digital initiatives, third-party integrations, and system transformations.
• Ensure that key vulnerabilities are identified early and that practical, value-driven recommendations are provided.

4. Standards & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), Internal Audit Charter, and Group-level policies.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, ethics, and quality across all audit engagements.
• Introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance audit effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction.

5. Stakeholder Management & Advisory

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the JazzCash leadership team, providing expert insights on governance, compliance, and emerging risk trends.
• Maintain strong, transparent relationships with the Audit Committee, Board, Regulators, and Senior Management.
• Lead as Secretary to the JCF and JCPL Audit Committees, ensuring effective meeting management, documentation, and governance compliance.

6. Communication & Reporting

• Present clear, concise, and insightful audit reports to the Board, Committees, and Executive Leadership.
• Deliver meaningful analysis of systemic issues and risk trends to support data-driven decision-making.
• Champion effective two-way communication between audit, management, and regulators.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it take to be Head of Internal Audit - JazzCash?

The ideal candidate will be a strategic, technology-savvy leader with strong financial services and governance expertise. The role requires a balance of technical depth, leadership maturity, and stakeholder management skills to drive audit excellence in a dynamic Fintech environment.

• Experience: 10–12 years of progressive internal audit or risk management experience within financial services or Fintech, with a proven track record of managing complex audits and teams.
• Leadership: Strong ability to lead cross-functional teams, inspire collaboration, and drive high performance and accountability.
• Governance Expertise: Hands-on experience engaging with Boards, Audit Committees, and senior executives; able to influence decisions and foster a strong control culture.
• Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of banking regulations, especially SBP requirements; Fintech or digital payments experience is highly desirable.
• Technology Awareness: Familiarity with digital platforms, cybersecurity, and technology-enabled auditing tools such as data analytics and automation.
• Qualifications: Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIA is required; CISA or other IT audit certifications preferred.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and persuasively.
• Personal Attributes: High integrity, professional independence, and a proactive mindset with strong business acumen and resilience.
