What is Specialist Reverse Logistics & Supplier Performance?
The Specialist Reverse Logistics & Supplier Performance is a dual-function role responsible for managing the efficient flow of returned goods within the supply chain and ensuring optimal supplier performance. This position plays a critical part in cost reduction, customer satisfaction, sustainability, and overall supply chain excellence by overseeing product returns, repairs, recycling, disposals, and supplier evaluation and improvement activities. The role reports directly to Stream Head SCM Performance, Governance & Disposals and with another team member in the extended team.
What Specialist Reverse Logistics & Supplier Performance?
Reverse Logistics Management
- Manage the backward flow of goods, including product returns, repairs, refurbishments, recycling, and disposal.
- Close coordination with inventory operations team for assessment of returned items to determine their condition and decide on restacking, repair, recycling, or disposal actions.
- Maintain accurate records of returned products and reconcile inventory discrepancies related to repair & returns, and disposals.
- Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely and accurate processing of disposals.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and maximize value recovery from returned goods as well as disposals.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the reverse logistics process including recycling and disposals.
Supplier Performance Management
- Monitor, analyze, and report on supplier performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, quality, and service levels.
- Lead supplier evaluation processes and develop systematic techniques for ongoing assessment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for supplier-related performance issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to define, coordinate, and deploy improvement activities.
- Identify underperforming suppliers, initiate corrective action plans, and ensure sustainable improvements.
- Conduct onsite supplier audits and evaluations, ensuring closure of all findings and action items.
- Monitor supplier risks, update risk registers, and develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure suppliers adhere to contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and compliance standards.
- Support Head of Supply Chain in managing supplier action plans for recurring performance deviations
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Generate periodic reports on reverse logistics and supplier performance for management and stakeholders.
- Use data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, BI/ERP systems) to track trends and drive decision-making.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and supplier capability

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Specialist Reverse Logistics & Supplier Performance.
- Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management/Business/Finance.
- Certifications in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CSCM, APICS) would be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of 3PL operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
- Familiarity with reverse logistics, disposal regulations, environmental standards, and ethical disposal practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with supplier audits, contract management, and compliance standards
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and drive performance improvements.
- Proficiency in using logistics and supply chain management software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure
