What is Specialist Security Operations Center?
Specialist Security Operations Center is responsible for monitoring of Cyber security events via security tools e.g. SIEM, EDR etc to identify any potential cyber incident and engage stake holders for timely response to mitigate the security threat.
The role reports directly to the Stream Head Cyber Security with an extended team of 10 team members.
What does Specialist Security Operations Center do?
· Will identify, categorize, prioritize, and investigate events rapidly utilizing triage and response guidelines for the enterprise using commonly available Jazz SOC log sources that include:
o Firewalls and network devices
o Infrastructure server and end-user systems
o Threat intelligence platforms
o Web proxies
o Application logs and web-application firewalls
o Identity and access management systems
o Cloud and hybrid-IT provisioning, access, and infrastructure systems
o Antivirus systems
o Intrusion detection and prevention systems
· Monitor incoming event queues for potential security incidents using the Enterprise Security Management tools as per operational procedures.
· Perform initial investigation and triage of potential incidents, and escalate or close events as applicable.
· Monitor Jazz SOC ticket (or email) queue for potential event reporting from outside entities and individual users.
· Maintain Jazz SOC shift logs with relevant activity from the shift.
· Document investigation results, ensuring relevant details are passed to tier 2 for final event analysis.
· Update or reference Jazz SOC collaboration tool as necessary for changes to Jazz SOC process and procedure as well as ingest Jazz SOC daily intelligence reports and previous shift logs.
· Conduct security research and intelligence gathering on emerging threats and exploits.
· Perform additional auxiliary responsibilities as outlined in the console monitoring procedure.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Specialist Security Operations Center?
· Experience and Educational requirements
BE/MS (Information Security, Software, Telecoms), 2 – 5 Years of Relevant Experience
· Ability to organize, plan and document tasks;
· Ability to search and understand KB articles to troubleshoot issues;
· Knowledge of Jazz’s existing security policies;
· Possess good logical and analytical skills to help in analysis of Security events/incidents
· Problem Solver
· Team Player
· Ability to work under pressure
· Willing to work 24*7 on Shift Basis
· Analyze security event/incidents using SIEM tool with the help of troubleshooting guides and knowledge bases;
· Working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack and understanding of TCP/IP services (SMTP, DNS etc.) and port details (25, 53 etc.) of commonly used TCP/IP applications;
· Knowledge/understanding of at least one of the network devices (routers, switches etc.), applications (firewalls, NIPS etc.) and Operating Systems (UNIX, Linux, Windows);
· Exposure on ITSM tools like incident management, Knowledge management and CMDB, etc.;
· Skill in detecting host and network based intrusions via intrusion detection technologies.
· Skill in recognizing and categorizing types of vulnerabilities and associated attacks.
· Skill in assessing security controls based on cybersecurity principles
· Skill in conducting trend analysis.
· Skill to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation)
