What is Product Expert – Cloud

This role is part of Garaj Cloud Platform which is Jazz’s Cloud Native Technology unit specializing in modernizing (improve, automate & transform) the full-scope of infrastructure and Application. We offer Advanced Cloud, Cloud Consulting, ICT, and Management & Improvement (DevOps, SysOps & Cloud Managed Services). The role requires working with customers and business partners to drive intelligent, impactful & futuristic business outcomes.

The role reports directly to the Manager Cloud Innovation & Lead Cloud Solutions Architect and has 2 people reporting directly into it.

What does Product Expert Do?

• Product Expert - Cloud will provide prescriptive guidance across Cloud and ICT Solutions including Compute, storage, operating systems, Networking & Security to the customers.
• Propose solutions to optimise cloud spend from one public cloud to the other.
• Be the first one to experiment on new age cloud offerings, help define the best practises for cloud, automation & Dev-Ops.
• Build hybrid-cloud and ICT solutions for customers. Define solution components, frameworks, and scope of work to be used.
• Manage project teams and facilitate the definition of project deliverables around core Cloud based technology and methods.
• Work effectively with the technology partners including Systems Integrators and OEMs to build the ICT solutions.
• Be the technical expert to build new services Framework, help build the practice as per the guidelines as well as work closely with the commercial team to productize and monetize it.
• Support and Assist Technical and Commercial team in the roll-out of new platforms and products in Cloud vertical.
• Contribute to the architecture of the cloud and ICT services by optimizing services Design, Service delivery and effective Day 2 Operations.

Requirements

• BS/BE or MS degree in IT systems/Networks/Telecommunications.
• 4 or more years of System/Network Engineering, Cloud Product/Presales or Architecture experience.
• Some Cross-functional experience in Sales, Presales and Product management will be preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively with customers as well as internal and external organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges.
• In-depth knowledge of Virtualization platforms including VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM and containers is a must have with intermediate level knowledge of Public Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure etc).
• Experience in ICT solutions including Private Cloud, Security solutions, Tech-refresh and infrastructure upgrades.
• Knowledge in Security solutions is a must - Hardened operating systems / security concerns, bastions, DMZs, Antivirus, NGFWs and SIEM.
• Deep understanding of the Functional & Non Functional Requirements (NFRs) of projects and how Platform architecture can make systems secure, resilient and performant.
• Motivation to learn new technologies including Containers, Docker, Kubernetes (or equivalent), Multiload Networking and using these technologies for the architecture of multi-region, load-balanced resilient microservices type platforms.
• Certifications/Trainings in the domain of Cloud, Virtualization, Networking and Security like AWS Cloud Practitioner / Solution Architect and Security solutions is a plus.
