Role Overview
We are seeking a technically inclined individual for the role of Fintech Assurance & AML Risk within the Business Assurance team. The role primarily focuses on data-driven transaction monitoring, fraud analysis, and automation, with hands-on work in SQL, Python, and Power BI.
This position offers an opportunity to work on real-world fintech use cases, supporting fraud risk management and ensuring operational integrity across digital financial services.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Analytics & Visualization
- Write optimized SQL queries for large-scale transactional data analysis.
- Perform in-depth analysis to identify fraud patterns, anomalies, and customer behavior trends.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for fraud monitoring, KPIs, and operational insights.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover risks and inefficiencies.
- Transform and preprocess data (cleansing, aggregation, normalization) for analytics use cases.
2. Automation & Scripting
- Develop Python scripts to automate data extraction, validation, and reporting processes.
- Support automation of recurring assurance and monitoring tasks.
- Implement rule-based logic for fraud detection and alert generation.
- Optimize SQL queries and improve performance for large datasets.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure data availability and quality.
3. Transaction Monitoring & Fraud Analytics
- Monitor transactional activity across digital channels to identify suspicious behavior and fraud patterns.
- Assist in rule-based fraud detection, including threshold-based and pattern-based checks.
- Perform reconciliations across systems to ensure transaction integrity and completeness.
- Support investigation of flagged transactions and document findings.
4. Reporting & Visualization
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for transaction monitoring and performance tracking.
- Translate analytical outputs into actionable insights for stakeholders.
5. Operational Assurance
- Execute daily control checks, reconciliations, and data completeness reviews.
- Support AML/KYC monitoring and ensure adherence to defined controls.
6. Collaboration & Support
- Work with Technology and Data teams to ensure data availability and quality.
- Contribute to improving fraud detection logic and operational processes.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Data Science, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience relevant to working with SQL, Python, Hadoop, Power BI and other tools.
Technical Skills (Core Requirement)
- SQL: Strong understanding of queries, joins, aggregations, and data extraction from large datasets
- Python: Working knowledge of Pandas, data manipulation, and basic scripting/automation
- Power BI (or similar): Dashboard creation and basic data visualization
- Understanding of data structures, data cleaning, and preprocessing techniques
Good to Have
- Exposure to transaction monitoring systems or fraud detection use cases
- Basic understanding of fintech/payment systems (wallets, IBFT, digital transactions)
- Awareness of AML/KYC concepts and fraud risk indicators
