What is Manager Government Affairs (JazzCash)?
Manager Government Affairs (JazzCash) provides advice to identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities that may impact the business performance or company reputation. The role ensures leadership of all government relations, public policy, stakeholder management and strategic communications related programs and initiatives.
The role reports directly to Head of Corporate Affairs JazzCash and will require close coordination with Head of Public Sector Partnerships with an extended team of 1 member.
What does Manager of Government Affairs (JazzCash) do?
- Identify and monitor stakeholders to understand their priorities and develop a strategic plan for engagement. Engage with stakeholders to strengthen our impact and deliver value to the business.
- Presents organization’s position on government policies and regulatory affairs to government bodies and safeguard organization’s business interests
- Monitor political and economic developments to identify trends with implications to the business. Engages with and builds coalitions with regional and local government and non-government stakeholders to advocate for or against and advance policies and programming that support our business goals
- Coordination with key internal and/or external stakeholders (with both shared and opposing interests) for sharing information, influencing and negotiating.
- Advises senior management on business implications of any changes in government policies, regulatory matters.
- Provides input to senior management as per the requirements of internal stakeholders for the development of overall divisional budget.
- Drive policy and advocacy to enable more consumers to avail digital services.
- Close coordination with DFS domains in other OpCos to effectively leverage the global experience and implementation of best practices locally.
- Maintain close liaison with Mobilink Microfinance Bank to develop synergies and pursue ambitions of mutual interest
- Develop transparent and measurable KPIs and assess the business impact of advocacy efforts
- Coordination with divisional counterparts to mitigate any regulatory bottle necks to facilitate business growth
- Work towards implementation of policies that promote financial inclusion in Pakistan
- Develop and analyse business impact of existing and upcoming policies in Digital Financial Ecosystem.
- This position would act to help provide a conducive regulatory environment for the business.
- Develops and maintains a positive perception of JazzCash in the relevant circles i.e. ministries, regulatory authorities, provincial government etc.
- Must have fair knowledge of Corporate communications, reputational risk management and ensuring image management
- Strong liaison with external stakeholders such as Law Enforcement Agencies and State Bank of Pakistan etc.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Government Affairs (JazzCash)?
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in senior roles with responsibility for corporate and regulatory affairs, public policy, government relations, communications and stakeholder management.
- Ability to analyze complex business and regulatory issues, manage divergent stakeholders and bring together multiple concepts across functions to define the long-term public affairs, government relations, and communications strategy for the business.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams and collaboration with other divisions.
- Understanding of financial eco system.
