What is Expert AML?

The person will be responsible for managing the risks related to AML-CTF, developing training content for employees, delivering in-person awareness sessions to teams, supporting with communication/visibility initiatives and perform monitoring and testing of compliance controls framework.

The role reports directly to the Head of Ethics & Compliance Operations and AML

What Expert AML does?

• Ability to design and implement AML frameworks across diverse business models, ensuring compliance for fintech, digital platforms and lifestyle/fashion business touchpoints where financial transactions are involved with use of Artificial Intelligence where appropriate.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency ecosystems, including blockchain fundamentals, virtual asset transactions, and associated AML/CFT risks, with hands-on experience in implementing and monitoring crypto-related AML controls, transaction screening, and suspicious activity reporting.
• Engage teams to review and update policies related to AML as per updated regulatory requirements received from the Regulator as well as other stakeholders. Communicate changes in policies and provide training to all concerned internal stakeholders.
• Perform periodic risk assessments related to AML-CTF including those required by Veon HQ and develop mitigation plan to address identified gaps.
• Assists in developing training content and delivering in-person and virtual E&C awareness sessions in HQ and Regional offices.
• Responsible to effectively manage and update the E&C training calendar
• Perform and provide support in periodic self-assessment and Monitoring & Testing exercise for an effective assessment and controls.
• Perform any other Ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Management

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Expert AML?

• 3-5 years of experience in the fields of Finance, Accounting or other risk assurance function
• Experience in a Digital-First Company or Fintech would be preferred
• Proficient at report writing and analysis
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and AI based systems
• The position would involve travelling to different regions on need basis and as per business requirement
• Business knowledge, eager to learn new things
• Strong team player, solution orientated
• Attention to detail
• Well versed with MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
• Relationship builder with a collaborative approach
• Customer conscious
