What is the Head of Infrastructure and Data Centre?
The Head of Infrastructure & Data Centre Operations is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for the strategic and operational management of Jazz’s data center infrastructure, facility management, and nationwide power systems. The role ensures highly available, compliant, and energy-efficient operations across all mission-critical facilities, enabling seamless digital service delivery across Pakistan. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in leading modernization, sustainability, and scalability of Jazz’s core physical infrastructure.
The role reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer.
What does Head of Infrastructure and Data Centre do?
1. Data Centre & Facility Management
· Lead the design, build, and operations of Tier-grade, accredited data centers across the network footprint.
· Ensure robust power systems, HVAC, access control, fire suppression, and environmental safety mechanisms.
· Govern infrastructure lifecycle planning including upgrades, expansions, and decommissions.
· Maintain certifications and compliance as per international (e.g., Uptime Institute, ISO, ANSI/TIA) and local regulatory standards.
· Implement global best practices for facility uptime, energy efficiency, preventive maintenance, and emergency readiness.
· Oversee OEM, vendor, and FLM (First Line Maintenance) partners ensuring high operational standards and response metrics.
2. Power Infrastructure Management
· Own the end-to-end design, deployment, and performance of national power infrastructure across data centers, exchanges, and key network sites.
· Ensure energy efficiency, alternate power planning (generators, batteries, solar), and sustainability programs.
· Establish robust monitoring and automation for power systems to proactively manage outages and cost optimization.
· Lead energy audits, power resilience planning, and partnerships for cleaner energy options.
3. Compliance & Risk Management
· Drive adherence to safety, environmental, and facility-related compliance frameworks.
· Ensure audit readiness across infrastructure components and implement corrective actions.
· Maintain strong Disaster Recovery readiness and test protocols for all mission-critical sites.
4. Strategic Planning & Vendor Management
· Lead capacity planning, cost optimization, and facility modernization initiatives.
· Manage vendor relationships for infrastructure services, SLAs, and long-term evolution partnerships.
· Align infrastructure roadmap with technology and business growth strategies.
5. People & Process Leadership
· Build and develop high-performing facility and infrastructure teams with clear succession planning.
· Develop SOPs, governance models, and automated workflows for efficient infrastructure operations.
6. NOC Collaboration
· Ensure close coordination with the NOC for proactive fault detection and resolution support across facility and infrastructure domains.
