What is Specialist HLR & VAS Operations?

Main tasks include day to day Operation & Maintenance of VAS & HLR Network, Customer complaints handling (corporate & commercial), configuration management, troubleshooting, interaction with internal and external stakeholder and vendor support teams for ongoing issues, project and upgrades.

The role reports directly to the Manager HLR/VAS Planning & Operations and has 12 people reporting directly into it.

What does Specialist HLR & VAS Operations do?

• Have thorough competency on Value Added Services & Core Network Products.
• Performs O&M, configuration management, fault Management, performance Management, network audit, health checks, vendor management and project execution with great product knowledge.
• Takes ownership and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
• Being able to work in shifts and part of 24/7 team roster.
• Continuously review and bring improvements to the Jazz Technology and Development framework and design innovative solutions as per global best practices.
• Handle day-to-day network operations of Jazz VAS and HLR network.
• Engage in effective coordination with Vendor to resolve issues and have root-cause analysis (RCA Report) in possible minimum time
• Ensure high-availability of network to the end-users and business.
• Handles operations & administration of the Hardware & software of value added services.
• Coordinate with all relevant technology vendors for any support issues to make sure that Service Level Agreement is always intact.
• Comply with all the departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during the execution of tasks and carrying out all job related duties.
• Be involved in report writing and MOP preparation.
• Remains updated on current policies, procedures, promotions, products and value added services offered by the Jazz.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Specialist HLR & VAS Operations?

We are looking for someone who has already worked for VAS & HLR Operations with hands on experience on SMSC, Anti-spam and firewalls from vendors like Huawei, ZTE or HLR/HSS from Nokia. Must have good configuration and troubleshooting skills. We are also looking for someone who has excellent communication & leadership skills to be able to promote the department and technology portfolio with professionalism, maturity, and a balanced, holistic view of any competing viewpoints and last but not the least, the candidate must be a good team player.

• Customer centricity approach to identify and fix network issues
• Knowledge of GSM & Messaging Call flows, IP Protocols, Signalling, troubleshooting skills
• Innovative thinking and solution orientation to craft leadership development solutions in line with our philosophy, competencies and expectations from leaders
• Communication and presentations skills to make solutions/ideas understandable for respective audience segments
• Drive for results to own initiatives and continuously evolve in line with analysis and feedback
• Hands on experience in process automation/simplification
• SQL/Oracle for data extractions & query writing
• Basic knowledge of programming languages like python, perl and Javascript
