What is Manager Contracts?

The Contract Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all contractual matters related to Deodar’s operations. The role requires a blend of legal expertise, commercial understanding, and strategic insight to support Deodar’s business objectives. The Contract Manager will independently handle contract drafting, reviews, negotiations, and risk assessments, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The role reports directly to Head of Legal.

What does Contracts Manager do?

  Contract Management:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including lease agreements, SLAs, MSAs, NDAs, and procurement contracts.
• Ensure contract terms are in line with Deodar’s business interests and compliance framework.
• Maintain a digital contract repository and track contract performance metrics.

Legal Advisory:

• Provide timely legal advice to internal stakeholders after assessing commercial and operational context.
• Support in managing legal risks across functions such as supply chain, energy, finance, and rollouts.

·       Interpret applicable telecom, corporate, and civil laws affecting tower infrastructure business.

·       Provide legal assistance to relevant internal stakeholders after carefully understanding the business context surrounding the contract and its impact vis-à-vis the business needs.

·       Support to effectively offer a legal view on various matters, from within the organization and on industry related matters to be fully compliant with respective laws and policies.

·       Provide opinions and legal advice to personnel at all levels of the business on existing and new commercial arrangements.

  Stakeholder Engagement:

·       Liaise with Deodar’s internal departments including commercial, rollout, supply chain, finance, and regulatory teams.

·       Collaborate with external legal advisors, consultants, and counterparties for contract resolution or escalations.

·       Provide legal assistance to relevant internal stakeholders after carefully understanding the business context surrounding the contract and its impact vis-à-vis the business needs.

·       Engage in training of relevant business personnel (both informal trainings and structured programmes) on legal developments, contract management as well as on policies/procedures owned by or supported by the Legal function. 

  Governance & Compliance:

• Assist in ensuring compliance with local telecom laws, company law, and corporate governance practices.
• Support implementation of internal policies and procedures related to contract lifecycle management, sanctions, data privacy, and anti-bribery compliance.

  Reporting & Other task:

• Prepare contract summaries and dashboards for management reporting.

·       Provide weekly updates to the Head of Legal on key contract negotiations, issues, and litigation matters if any.

• Assist in streamlining processes and procedures pertaining to key risk areas such as export controls & sanctions, anti-trust, data protection, anti-bribery and anti-corruption etc.
• Advise on risk mitigation in long-term infrastructure commitments and co-location agreements.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Contracts?

·       LLB/LLM/Bar at Law Degree with at least 5-7 years working experience in an in-house legal team or law firm/chamber.

·       Experience in Tower sharing or Towerco would be preferred.

·       Knowledge of the legal framework especially company and telecom laws in Pakistan.

·       Knowledge of contract, corporate and intellectual property laws.

·       Legal research, negotiation and contract drafting and review

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in stakeholder management

·       Coming up with legal solutions focused towards delivering real time business value.

·       Strong writing skills.

·       Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and ability to research.

·       Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as experience in stakeholder management.
