What is Application Security Intern?

An Application Security Intern is an entry-level team member of Jazz’s Information Security Governance team who will assist in identifying, analyzing, and support to fix security vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in securing applications through real-world testing, learning about secure development practices, and working closely with developers and security team to improve overall security posture.

What does Application Security Intern do?

· Assist in performing Penetration Testing on internal applications (Mobile & Web)

· Support the team in Static Application Security Testing (SAST) and Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST)

· Help conduct vulnerability assessments and code reviews

· Coordinate with development teams to explain security findings and understand how to fix them

Requirements

Experience and Educational requirements

· Currently enrolled or recently completed a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity or Computer Science or a related field

· A strong interest in application security, ethical hacking, or secure software development

· Soft and technical skills required

· Basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, APIs, HTTP, etc.)

· Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and common application security vulnerabilities

· Exposure to web and/or mobile application development is a plus

· Comfortable with using or learning tools like Burp Suite, MobSF, Frida

· Knowledge of secure coding practices is a plus

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Should have good presentation and report writing skills

· Strong willingness to learn and explore security concepts
