What is Manager Procurement?
This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s procurement activities, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services necessary for our telecom operations. One of the key aspects of this role will be active involvement in the implementation and optimization of SAP modules related to procurement (MM, SRM, etc.), ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and driving efficiency improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of strategic procurement expertise, deep knowledge of SAP functionality, and proven project management skills.
The role reports directly to Head of Procurement & SCM.
What does Manager Procurement do?
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company’s overall business objectives, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement and partners/vendor management.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish strong long-term relationships.
- Manage the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company’s policies and ethical standards.
- Develop and manage supplier performance metrics, conduct regular reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Network Operations, Finance, Sales, IT) to understand their procurement needs and provide effective solutions.
- Responsible for procurement reporting on KPIs and performance targets. Includes ensuring timely, standardized and accurate data collection from various stakeholders and synthetization into performance reports.
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor and develop a high performing procurement team.
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and innovation within the procurement team.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions, price volatility and compliance issues.
- Ensure all procurement related activities adhere to company’s policies and ethical guidelines.
SAP Implementation and Optimization (Procurement Focus)
- Lead and actively participate in the implementation of SAP modules relevant to procurement (e,g., SAP MM – Material Management, SAP SRM – Supplier Relationship Management, SAP Ariba).
- Act as a subject matter expert for procurement processes within the SAP environment, providing guidance and support to project teams and end users.
- Map current procurement processes to SAP functionalities, identify gaps and propose solution for optimization and automation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within SAP procurement modules post-implementation, identifying opportunities for further automation and efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within SAP procurement modules.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Procurement?
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CSPCP) are plus. Working in a Technology related role (preferably in a Mobile Operator/Vendor). With clear understanding of technology network elements and vendor market.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in procurement with at least 4 years in a managerial role, preferably within the telecom industry.
- Demonstrable experience with SAP procurement modules (SAP-MM, SAP-SRM, SAP Ariba) is essential.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, best practices and industry trends.
- Excellent negotiations, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
