What is Manager HSE?
The Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) manager role is responsible for;
- Developing and implementing organizational safety programs, reviewing and updating HSE policies, conducting risk assessments and evaluating the workplace environment.
- The role involves coordinating training programs for employees and educating workers about site-specific safety measures.
- The individual will also audit teams onsite and work with clients to ensure HSE requirements are met.
- They will be responsible for sustainability reporting, working closely with partners, directors, and managers to address new requirements and emerging technical issues.
- The role also involves carbon footprint reduction and environmental responsibility.
- The individual will lead communication, learning, and understanding of mandatory sustainability reporting, participate in regional and global subject matter focus groups, and identify opportunities for sustainability reporting-related guidance, training, and material for leadership.
- The role requires a kind and compassionate leader, excellent attention to detail, and strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The individual will also promote ethical and sustainable practices across the company.
The role reports to the Chief Technology Officer, with 2 resources reporting directly to them.
What does Manager HSE do?
The Manager of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) plays a pivotal role in ensuring that an organization adheres to health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations, fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the workplace. This managerial position demands a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing comprehensive strategies to mitigate risks. The HSE Manager will collaborate closely with different departments to establish and maintain safety protocols, conduct audits, provide training, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Develop, implement, and manage health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and propose corrective actions.
- Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices and environmental responsibilities.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote a culture of safety and ensure effective communication regarding health and safety matters.
- Prepare and maintain HSE reports, metrics, and documentation for management review and regulatory compliance.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager HSE?
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master’s will be preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience related to this role.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health, safety and environmental regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective training and engagement.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management software and tools.
