What is Manager Pricing?
Manager Pricing is a role within the Pricing team within the Marketing department in the Commercial Division. The team is responsible for facilitating the B2B and B2C segments in end-to-end pricing processes; conduct competitive analysis for industry performance insights and to assess performance.
The role reports directly to the Head of Pricing and is part of a six-member team.
The main priorities of the team include growing the B2C business portfolio ensuring market competitiveness and monitoring all business trends to ensure the company objectives are achieved.
The ideal candidate is one who can effectively evaluate and govern the B2C business while ensuring smooth conception of new launches and nascent products. Briefly, someone who can redraw the Business Canvas Model for a telco, can work independently and perform under pressure. The individual should have sound business understanding, product development, and project management skills.
What does ‘Manager Pricing’ do?
· Recommend ways to develop Pricing strategy of Core Prepaid and LBC portfolio in Consumer division to ensure achievement of business objectives.
· Monitor revenue, subscriber and traffic trends and co-ordinate with the relevant segments to propose action plan in case of gap identification and raise early warnings for performance management.
· Establish good relationship with relevant stakeholders e.g. B2C, Regulatory, Brands, Data & Strategy, Channel Planning, etc.
· Recommend & develop strategies on how to retain, acquire and manage subscribers.
· Using analytical skills design action plan for achievement of sales targets, reduce churn, improve subscriber retention and KPI achievement.
· Review the developed business cases for all new launches and change in existing products/projects.
· Competitive monitoring of pricing for similar products/services and recommend corrective action plan.
· Brainstorm ideas to develop and roll out value propositions while effectively ensuring delivery at every step of the way.
· Conceiving ideas and ensuring final delivery to grow more revenue from identifying segments within the market/existing subscribers.
· Determine feasibility of new products and determine optimal pricing.
· Review and enhance the defined pricing dynamics for B2C Voice, SMS, and Data products taking into account internal costs, competition, regulation, and market constraints.
· Review post product/price change impact for all pricing initiatives and propose optimal way forward.
· Monitor the ongoing competitiveness and profitability of products/services.
· Manage network load through product changes, ensuring cellular traffic to remain within network capacity constraints.
· Foresee innovative opportunities and projects to attract new customers and gain competitive edge.
· Closely monitor competitor performance and maintain/increase revenue and subscriber market shares.
· Coordinate with the regulator to secure approvals for effective launch of new/existing product changes
· Prepare periodic revenue outlook in comparison with relevant benchmarks.
· Ensure End-to-end provision of ad-hoc business intelligence material depicting commercial performance - gap analysis against relevant benchmarks.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be ‘Job Title’?
We are looking for someone who has the experience of delivering challenging projects and can take end to end responsibility from planning to roll out within the GSM business.Prior experience of Pricing Management & Segments will be preferred. Ideally, someone who has the ability to develop product ideas and convert them into tangible results to grow the Voice and Data business will be preferred. The candidate should have sound business understanding and the ability to manage stakeholders including segment managers, brand experts, analytics, partnerships team, and tech and finance teams to ensure smooth governance and product pricing.
Moreover, following are some of the eligibility requirements for the role:
· Minimum Bachelor’s degree – preferably Master’s in related area of expertise or MBA
· Experience in Marketing function.
· Sense of Pricing of Products & Services preferred.
· Strong analytical & presentation skills.
· Problem solving abilities.
· Ability to collaborate effectively, comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment and adapt to new technologies.
