What is Manager Treasury?

The Manager Treasury is responsible for ensuring effective cash flow management, optimal utilization of banking facilities, and smooth execution of daily treasury operations. This role oversees cash forecasting, fund positioning, bank account management, and execution of payments while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. The Treasury Manager plays a key role in managing relationships with banks, optimizing transactional banking arrangements, and supporting automation of treasury processes. The role also involves monitoring liquidity positions, ensuring timely settlements, and providing insights for efficient working capital management across the organization.

Cash & Liquidity Management

• Monitor and forecast daily cash positions across all bank accounts to ensure optimal cash utilization.
• Maintain adequate liquidity to support operational needs and strategic initiatives.
• Manage short-term borrowing, investment decisions, and cash pooling arrangements.

Banking Operations

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with banking partners to secure favorable terms and services.
• Oversee the opening and closing of bank accounts and maintain accurate mandate management records.
• Review bank charges regularly and negotiate competitive terms for banking services and credit facilities.

Payments & Treasury Operations

• Supervise domestic and international payment processes to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Oversee payroll processing, vendor payments, and statutory remittances.
• Coordinate closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to optimize cash flow and working capital.

Forex & Risk Management

• Monitor the organization’s foreign exchange exposures and assess their impact on financial performance.
• Develop and execute hedging strategies (including forwards and swaps) in line with company policies.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements governing foreign exchange transactions.

Debt & Investment Management

• Manage the corporate debt portfolio, including borrowings, repayment schedules, covenant compliance, and reporting.
• Evaluate investment opportunities, balancing return objectives with liquidity and risk considerations.
• Maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and financial institutions.

Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and deliver regular treasury reports, including cash flow forecasts, debt schedules, FX exposure summaries, and treasury KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with internal treasury policies, tax regulations, and central bank guidelines.
• Support internal, external, and statutory audits by providing required documentation and explanations.

Team Management & Systems

• Lead, train, and mentor treasury staff, fostering a high-performance culture within the treasury team.
• Implement, maintain, and enhance treasury management systems (TMS) and ERP solutions to improve efficiency and controls.
• Drive automation and process improvements to strengthen treasury operations and reporting capabilities.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Treasury?

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• 6 – 8 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, banking, or finance, preferably within large organizations with significant debt portfolios and active risk management operations. Telecom sector experience will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of banking practices, treasury systems, financial instruments, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in financial modelling, advanced Excel, and SAP ERP is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
