What is Manager Digital Content
As Manager Digital Content, you will drive the growth of Tamasha by managing the end-to-end content lifecycle, from identifying and sourcing content, negotiating commercial terms, managing content budgets, and closing contracts, to ensuring timely and cost-effective onboarding of content.
This role plays a key part in shaping Tamasha’s content offering by aligning acquisitions with user demand, platform strategy, and business objectives. You will act as the voice of the user, partner with local and international content aggregators, and ensure every content acquisition contributes to user engagement, retention, and revenue goals.
You will report directly to the Stream Head Content
What does Manager Digital Content do?
- Prepare and present business cases for major content investments to internal stakeholders.
- Lead sourcing of content across genres including sports, entertainment, news, and originals based on platform strategy and audience insights.
- Own end-to-end content acquisition cycle including pitch evaluation, negotiations, budgeting, contracting, and onboarding.
- Develop strong relationships with production houses, TV Channels, Content aggregators, and independent creators.
- Analyze content performance, user data, and competitor benchmarks to guide acquisition priorities and renewals.
- Collaborate with Finance procurement, and legal teams to ensure smooth execution of content partnerships. Support contract negotiations including exclusivity, windowing, rights, and KPIs.
- Coordinate with finance teams to process timely payments to content partners, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with contractual terms.
- Drive localized content acquisition based on regional demand signals and trends.
- Maintain and track content acquisition budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI-positive deals.
- Ensure all acquired content meets platform standards and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with product, technology, and partner teams to ensure timely ingestion, QA, and availability of content on the platform.
- Evaluate new content formats (short-form, UGC, AVOD/SVOD) and acquisition models to expand Tamasha’s catalog.
- Assist in creating a forward-looking content calendar aligned with platform events, user growth campaigns, and monetization plans.
- Optimize rights management by ensuring timely renewals and proactive management of expiring licenses.
Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Manager Digital Content?
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Media, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in content acquisition, media rights negotiation, or content operations preferably in OTT, media, or entertainment.
- Prior experience managing large content budgets and partner portfolios.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of content licensing models (rev share, minimum guarantees, flat fee, etc.)
- Familiarity with local and international entertainment/media ecosystems.
- Strong knowledge of content performance metrics (watch time, MAU, DAUs, CPMs, retention curves, etc.).
- Sound understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks related to content distribution.
- Proficient in Excel, data analysis tools, and contract management platforms.
