What does Expert Fiber Optics Operation do?

·       Maintain fiber network availability and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

·       Perform operations and maintenance of Huawei SDH, DWDM, MSTP, OTN, and IPRAN, FTTS equipment.

·       Troubleshoot and rectify remote and on-site fiber network faults and degraded links.

·       Expert in fiber splicing and jointing

·       Assist Fiber Optics Engineer/Team Lead in day-to-day activities

·       Support fault management processes and ensure adherence to KPIs.

·       Maintain updated network documentation including fiber pair utilization and as-built drawings.

·       Assist area teams in resolving on-site faults and technical queries.

·       Coordinate with subcontractors/vendors and report performance evaluations.

·       Support preventive maintenance planning and execution for fiber infrastructure.

·       Manage tools, test equipment calibration, and inventory of spares.

·       Participate in acceptance testing and handover/takeover activities of new fiber sections and ISP equipment.

·       Assist in installation, commissioning, and integration of transmission equipment.

·       Conduct civil works inspections for fiber cable protection and verify vendor invoices.

·       Generate periodic reports and assist in fault trend analysis for fiber cable and system optical levels

·       DAE Electrical/Electronic, B. Tech or equivalent

·       Hands-on experience with Optical Fiber Transmission systems with minimum 3-5 years of field experience

·       Proficient in using OTDR, Power Meters, GPS, VFL and related test instruments.

·       Basic knowledge of DWDM, IPRAN, and OTN technologies.

·       Skilled in mapping tools (Google Earth, Map Source).

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills.

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
