What is Expert DevOps Engineer?
An Expert DevOps Engineer at JazzCash is a highly skilled professional responsible for ensuring seamless operations, scalability, and reliability of our application platforms. This role combines deep technical expertise with problem-solving abilities to maintain, automate, and optimize mission-critical systems in a high-stakes FinTech environment.
What does Expert DevOps Engineer do?
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support core application platforms with a focus on high availability, scalability, and performance.
- Provide L2 operational support for cloud-native and containerized environments, including OpenShift and IBM CloudPak.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
- Proactively categorize recurring issues into problems and drive root cause analysis in collaboration with Developers, SRE, and Business teams.
- Collaborate with L1 and L3 teams to escalate and resolve complex technical challenges efficiently.
- Maintain, enhance, and integrate monitoring solutions such as the ELK stack and AppDynamics for proactive incident detection and resolution.
- Support and troubleshoot legacy applications on RHEL servers, including log analysis and service health checks.
- Utilize AppDynamics to trace and analyze application performance, build custom dashboards, and troubleshoot business transactions.
- Perform performance analysis and troubleshooting across databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, and MySQL, including running diagnostic queries.
- Manage and monitor containerized workloads in OpenShift, including pod lifecycle management and cluster health diagnostics.
- Understand API and microservice flows, leveraging tools like API Gateways, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and caching solutions such as Redis and DataGrid.
- Develop automation scripts using Shell, Ansible, or Python to reduce manual tasks and increase efficiency.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, ensuring timely response and resolution to critical incidents.
- Contribute to infrastructure as code (IaC) practices, version control, and DevOps lifecycle automation.

Requirements
What are we looking for and what does it require to be Expert DevOps Engineer?
Required Skills
- DevOps & IT Operations: Proven experience in managing infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and troubleshooting in production-grade environments.
- FinTech Exposure: Working knowledge of FinTech ecosystems, transaction lifecycles, payment gateways, and core banking flows.
- Monitoring & Observability: Strong hands-on expertise with AppDynamics, ELK Stack, and performance troubleshooting tools.
- Cloud & Containers: Experience in containerization and orchestration using OpenShift, IBM CloudPak, and related tooling.
- Database Proficiency: Working experience with MongoDB, MySQL, and IBM DB2, including query execution and basic administration.
- Automation & Scripting: Practical knowledge of Shell scripting, Ansible, or Python for automating routine DevOps workflows.
- Networking & Security: Good understanding of firewalls, load balancers, VIPs, and enterprise-grade security best practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
- Experience with Kubernetes and microservices architecture.
- Exposure to Linux system administration and OS-level performance tuning.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, especially under pressure.

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
